Online Business 101 - Online Course
 eBay, Amazon, Etsy and more

Are you considering expanding your business to the Internet?

Buying And Selling Online – Stay Safe, Buy Smart and Sell Your Stuff!

Buying and selling on the Internet is not the wave of the future – it’s now. Whether you are looking for a deal on that new gadget or you have a garage full of goods to sell, the place to do it is online. eMarketer estimates that US retail e-commerce is growing by more than $20 billion annually, and will continue to grow by about that same amount through 2012.
But where do you start and how do you stay safe? Picking the right venue to sell your items is the key to profitability.
There are many sites that offer you easy check-out and quick shipments. However knowing where to look will help you find the best deal on your next purchase.

This class will help you learn how to navigate the online world of buying and selling.

This course will cover:

1. An overview of the main shopping sites including:

Amazon.com
Craigslist.com
Ebay.com
Etsy.com
Overstock.com
Google.com

2. We’ll cover a sample of the shopping comparison sites including:

Shopzilla.com
Shopping.com
Nexttag.com

3. How to check online reviews of products – what to watch for.
4. Which site works best for the item you want to sell.
5. How to avoid being a victim of identity theft, fraud and other crimes on the web.
6. What is PayPal and why you might want an account – even if you are not using eBay.
7. We’ll show you some guerrilla tactics to get the best deal – including how and why to ‘snipe’ on eBay and how to use Mpire.com to figure out what bid to put in. This will keep you from overpaying on your next auction purchase.

This new online course will be taught via 'go to meeting' software. Which means you will stay at your computer to see the visual part and listen in via your phone. We'll provide complete log-in instructions before the class starts.

In this course we'll cover how to open an eBay account, what you need to know to keep your information safe, what PayPal is and how to open an account. We'll cover how to create effective listings and the strategies to consider when selling your items. We'll talk about what to do during the auction, after it closes and cover shipping the item to the winning bidder.
