Are There Legitimate
Ways To Make Money Online, on eBay From Your Home Computer?
With so many 'get rich quick' schemes these days it's no
wonder one of the biggest search phrases used is: "honest
ways to make money online."
Yes, there are lots of reputable
ways to make an honest income or just make a little extra cash on the
Internet.
Here's a list of ten honest ways you can make
money using the Internet:
-
Sell on eBay - eBay is the perfect way to
make start a business. You can start small, with items around the house. As you make
a little extra cash, start investing it in more inventory - either from
the used market (garage sales, thrift stores, etc) or by contacting
wholesalers who will sell in small lots. Need a jump start? Check out my online
business 101 class.
-
Amazon.com - You can sell your own products on
Amazon via the Amazon ProStores or become an amazon.com affiliate.
Amazon has several programs available.
-
Build an Newsletter around a niche - not spam,
make sure it's opt-in. You can create one using constant contact that
allows readers to purchase directly from the email.
-
Blog - If you have a passion, write about it.
Setting up a blog is free and easy. If you use blogger software, adding
the Google Ad Sense program is easy. Once you build traffic, you'll find
money in your account.
-
Affiliate Marketing - Find a product you like,
understand how to use and write about it. Join commission junction and
use their program to track the clicks and sales. You don't even
need to know advanced web design to create a web page full of content.
Look at this sample I created for PhotoWorks.
I've invested no money, your only job is to drive traffic to the page.
-
Create A Membership Site - Member only access
sites are great ways to share your knowledge of a topic and get paid for
it. Create great content, and ask for a monthly subscription. There are
several sites offering the software. After research, when I start a membership site, I'll
use membergate software.
-
Make Your Own Product To Sell - an eBook or Video or?
- We're all experts in something. And chances are other people want
to know it. Write a how to product or create a how to video and sell it
online. If you are not blessed with writing talent hire a ghost writer
at elance.com. If you are interested in producing a DVD and need help,
contact www.ghostlegproductions.com
-
Drop Ship - Use OneSource -Although I have lots
of reservations telling you this, because there are so many scams out
there, you can make money drop shipping. That simply means contacting a
distributor and making the arrangement that you'll sell the item for
them, but they will ship it to the customer. This can
be a win-win for both parties. You don't have to buy inventory and the
distributor has another outlet to sell their goods. The only
company I recommend, if you don't want to pound the pavement to find
sources - is onesource.com
-
Sell A Service - Are you a writer, web designer?
Find clients who need you on elance.com. Do you consult? The
internet makes it easy to consult with clients in other cities, states
or countries by using "go to meeting" technology
-
Squidoo - It may not make you rich overnight, but
if you like to write squidoo pays royalties for your work.
That's ten of simple ways I know to earn a honest income
on the Internet. Use these ways to build your online business and you'll be
able to sleep at night knowing you've kept your integrity.
Over for the next several months I'll be writing in more
detail about each of the topics outlined above. Stay tuned for more!

Helping Yourself And Others Build
Their Business
by Dany Byrne
Last summer, eBay promoted their convention with the
slogan, “The Power Of All Of Us.” That slogan holds the secret to
multiplying the effectiveness of social web sites like Squidoo and
YouTube far beyond their everyday reach.
You’ve probably all heard Web 2.0 gurus preaching
about the importance of having a page on MySpace or a lens on Squidoo. But
that’s only half the story. Yes, those sites do tend to get higher
rankings on Google than a single page on a low traffic web site. But unless
you are in the business of promoting MySpace, your goal is to get your
product on the first page of Google – not to add another page to
MySpace’s subscriber stats.
The way to boost your page out of all the millions on
MySpace, etc., is to harness the “Power of Us All.” When you
upload a video to YouTube – don’t just hope for views. Let people know
the video exists and then – most importantly - ask for ratings. Ask
your readers to add the video to their favorites or to write a review. Ask
them to subscribe to your channel, add it to Digg, Stumble Upon or
Del.icio.us. The same goes for Squidoo lenses, MySpace pages, blog posts,
etc.
Attracting viewers is only half the equation. The real
power – the force multiplier – comes from having other people rate and
recommend your content.
Now, that takes (a little) time and a (small) amount of
effort – so why should your customers, viewers and readers do it? First,
because you actually supply great content that they’ll want to share.
Second, because you always take the time to rate, rank, favorite and
recommend other’s efforts. If you want the system to work,
you have to participate. That’s right – it’s like eBay’s feedback
system. If you want feedback, you have to leave feedback.
Don’t be afraid to educate your audience. A lot
of people don’t understand how to rate a video on YouTube. They may have
never written a review on Amazon or heard of del.icio.us. You can provide
helpful tips on using these services at the same time that you ask for
ratings. Remember – educate, don’t badger. And use this process to build
your own network. Your “friends” network can include loyal customers,
happy blog readers, other members of groups like OSI Rockstars - in fact,
any group that sees value in helping each other.
The first step is yours – comment on a video you
watch on YouTube, rate a Review & Guide on eBay, recommend a lens on
Squidoo. Let the creators know you enjoyed and recommended their work, and
ask if they’d take a look at your video or web page.
On the social web, success breeds success. The more
rankings you get – the more hits you will get – which will lead to
higher ratings –which will garner more reviews – and on and on and on.
Let’s lift each other up above the crowd on our path to success.

Keeping Your Photo Light Stands From Falling Over
Putting a heavy light and a umbrella on the end of a three leg
contraption is a recipe for disaster. Photographers have been doing
this for over a century and have come up with a solution. Although
it's not pretty, it works. What they do to stabilize the tipsy stands is to put a small sandbag on the the crossbows.
You can make them if you sew. Simply go to the garden store and buy a
small (4 Quart bag) of sand. Put the sand into a small ziplock type bag and then sew the
ziplock sand into a strong canvas type material. The trick is to allow
the bags to drape over the legs.
Of course, if you are like me you may prefer to just buy them and get it done with. Here's a link to a seller on eBay who
sells Photo Sand Bags
(of course, you'll still have to buy the sand).
