What's A Bonanzle Up?
Knowing Customer Demographics Helps Your Marketing
One Last Word...
Spring is here! With the
unusually harsh winter weather many of us experienced, the warmer
weather is a relief. With the season comes the new eBay
tradition of 'springing' changes on sellers. This year to make the changes
go down easier eBay prefaced the changes with the
promise to always give sellers 60 days advance notice before any
new policies take effect.
For
more about the eBay.com changes - check out the announcement here.
Things you'll need to be
aware of that could dramatically impact your eBay business
include:
-
The new view item
display. If you have a custom template make sure it'll still
work.
-
Return policies and
handling times must be filled in on every listing
-
eBay is bringing
dispute resolution 'in house' - PayPal will no longer be the
starting off point for buyers & sellers.
There are many more
changes announced that will take effect in June. Good changes
include Free Selling Manager for everyone (automation tools to make selling
easier) and access to the PayPal shipping
label from within eBay.
That is just a brief
overview of the changes. I suggest you read
through the changes carefully and make sure you are ready for
the June change-over.
I also suggest you check
out the great report Janelle
Elms put together on the changes. She spent a week combing
through the changes, line by line and creating a white paper that
highlights exactly what you need to know and do. The best part -
she's giving it away for free. To
download your copy - click here.
Before we move on, here
are my last words on the subject; pictures on eBay will get bigger.
When viewers mouse over the photo they'll get a pop-up enlargement
of the photo. This is going to make your pictures of the items
more important than ever. If you need a review, I'd like to offer
you my eBook Ten
Tips For Better Photos - download it for free. If you know
anyone who will benefit, please pass it along.

International
Sales
Did you know that
International sales account for 54% of eBay revenue?
If you choose not to
sell cross border you're missing out. I know it's a tough business
decision in many cases. Do you want to try for higher final
values? Or, do you want to make less but know you'll have fewer
problems with lost packages, potential lower DSR ratings (thus
lower final value rebates) and the never ending requests from
buyers to mark those packages as gifts? All things that can suck
the potential extra revenue dry.
As you may be able to
tell - I haven't been very delighted to sell cross border lately. I
sell photography equipment. There have been problems with the electrical
current; 110 verses 220. I've had to refund buyers who purchased
converters and blew the system, mad purchasers who bought and exclaimed,
when refunded, "that I should have been clearer in the
description" (probably true) and finally being 'dinged'
on my DSR's because shipping was too high, or too slow.
I think many of these
issues have caused American sellers to start withdrawing from
selling International. Add trying to break into an International
market where you don't know the language and sellers really face
some daunting problems.
But, I've changed my
mind......
That's where the company
Merchant
Run comes in. My colleague, Bob
Robillard, a eBay Certified Business Consultant recently
introduced me to the company.
Here's the deal. If you
know your products will sell well in
Australia - why not list directly on their site, instead of just
eBay.com? Or, if you are an
Australian and know your product will sell well in Germany - list
on the eBay Germany platform. MerchantRun.com
has a unique listing tool that helps you sell on all 21 eBay
marketplaces.
The listing tool is
very easy to use. Some of the features of the Global Link Software
include:
The best part is the
cost. Merchant Run comes with a free trial and if you decide to
continue to use the service, you only pay when the item sells.
Costs to use the service are anywhere from .75% to 1% of the final value. Not bad for the
ability to expand your selling reach by over 50%!
Bob
Robilllard and I joined the founders of Merchantrun.com
James Huang and Ryan Miller for a webinar on what/why and how of
Merchantrun. I recorded it, you can watch the video inside the
websellerscircle member area. It's free - just join the circle at www.websellerscircle.com
and I'll send you the login and password.
Meanwhile - if you have
any questions about Merchantrun.com
feel free to contact Bob, James
or Ryan.
Want to
start building a passive income generator?
The
newly released "Make Money with eBay Affiliate Web
Sites" is selling really well and if you haven't purchased
yours yet - read on.
I
just received this wonderful email from Cindy Hamilton of Bombay Bongo:
The "Make Money with eBay Affiliate Web Sites" training on DVD is
absolutely full of concrete information that I started using right away.
I'm a seasoned eBay seller with two eBay Stores, but I never before
explored how I might use eBay's affiliate program. How to create a website
or blog outside of eBay was also new territory for me. This DVD is so
helpful as it is full of many screen shots to follow as you create your own
affiliate site. The instructions are clear, concise, and reassuring. I
even used this DVD to help me open my first account with a web hosting
company.
I'm so glad I got this new business tool! I look forward to establishing
multiple affiliate sites, each with a passive stream of income.

If you still haven't picked up your copy of the DVD I'm including a
bonus eBook called:
Mining
For Gold On The Internet With The Niche Detector
This eBook walks you
through step-by-step how to drill down and find a profitable
niche. With a few tools and a little detective work this book
helps you avoid unprofitable areas and shows you how to zero in on
products people want and will pay money for.
But hurry, this eBook
has great information I know many people would pay dearly for. I'm
considering pulling this bonus book and putting it up for sale as
a stand alone item.

The Web Sellers
Circle Continues to grow
I want to thank everyone for
the support and enthusiasm with the Web Sellers' Circle
project.
Several Charter Members jumped on the chance for a lifetime membership to the site.
They know we'll provide them with quality material to help grow their
online businesses.
There's still time to get in
as a charter member - we're offering lifetime memberships, plus some
great incentives to the first 25 subscribers. Janelle Elms was going to post a blurb about the site in
her newsletter last week but she got side- tracked creating the new
check list for the upcoming eBay changes and she forgot. So there are still
a few remaining Life Time Charter Memberships. If you're interested, please visit http://websellerssecret.com
for more details.
For those who are wondering
why they might join - here's a quick list of the few benefits you can
expect from membership:
-
Members only webinar
training and conference calls
-
Members only
forums
-
Members only
bonuses, how to articles, step-by-step videos and podcasts
-
Members only
discounts on products
-
Members only access
to information about digital photography, marketing, search
engine optimization, blogging, pay-per-click advertising, copywriting,
product sourcing, networking, POD self-publishing and more
All designed to help you
have a profitable home business.
I hope that even if you
don't decide to jump into the lifetime subscription you'll
consider subscribing once the site goes live. We're getting
closer, our designer is nearly finished and then we'll
start putting the information together. We expect the doors to
open in June.

What's A Bonanzle Up?
Glad you asked! It’s a grass roots event born from the
Bonanzle.com
forums.
It started as a few members suggesting they get together for lunch and went
viral.
Now it’s an event you are invited to attend - for the moment it’s only scheduled in three cities.
Seattle - May 16th
Wichita - May 23th
Mobile - May 30th
This event is still taking shape, but one thing we know for sure is it will be fun. Co-founder Mark Dorsey will be in Seattle and promises to broadcast live for an hour at other upcoming events. He’s making himself available to answer questions about the site.
Want more information - or to start your own area Bonanzleup - visit the official website.
Knowing
Customer Demographics Helps Your Marketing
One important part of selling is to know who you
are selling to. In fact, a major part of your start-up business
plan should include who your customer is, what they do and where
they live.
I recently came across another piece of the
customer puzzle - a survey done about the habits of today's
internet users. Did you know there are six distinct types? There
are, and their uses may help shed some light on how to reach them
and sell to them.
I'm writing about the six types on my blog - I
invite you to take a look at http://websellerscircle.com
One Last
Word...
We would really love to hear your feedback. Dany
Byrne and I want to make the Web Sellers' Circle a place where you
find the information you need. If you have a suggestion,
would like us to find an expert, or would like to learn more about
a topic relating to online business - please send me an email at: cindy@websellerscircle.com
and let me know.
That's it for now,
