I hope you have a
wonderful day full of sunshine, sons and daughters, grandchildren,
pets, nieces and nephews!
Things are moving along for
the Web Sellers' Circle membership site as well. Last week Dany Byrne
& I talked started to add content to the membership area. I knew
we had lots of written, audio and video tutorials but I'm a little
amazed by all the information we have to share with you about
online business.
I had a chance to talk to
Sheryl Schuff, CPA & MBA who will be our resident bookkeeping and
accounting expert. We're mapping out a training series on starting up your
business and getting your books in order. Don't tell her I told you,
but she's even volunteered to walk us through setting up Quickbooks for
your business.
Needless to say I'm really
proud of the site and can hardly wait to open the doors for the grand
opening. Keep an eye out for our launch early in June. Meanwhile,
please continue to enjoy the free material we have available at http://websellerscircle.com
- it's just a small fraction of the stuff we'll have on the site and
what's to come.
We're getting closer to
release date now!
The eBay Marketing Bible
is slated to ship in
June, just in time for the "Almost Live" party.
After months of seeing
only the Word documents and photos plus countless Skype calls to Cliff -I'm
relieved and delighted that this project is now a
real live bound book.
If you are going to the eBay
Radio Party in Las Vegas this June, I've been invited to sign
copies after my seminar. (I'll be talking about
photography - for those who've heard me talk before, this one will
include new material).
We used XOXmas Vintage Antique COLLECTIBLESin the eBay
Marketing Bible to highlight a great way to build your Search
Engine Optimization and bring traffic into your eBay listings from
outside of eBay.
Lee Mirabal,
Jim Griffith and eBetsy from eBay radio have started a grass roots
eBay get together in June in Las Vegas. Talk is that there will be
experts, parties and cheap buffets. This will be an excellent
chance to network with other eBayers. And, there is hope that at
least some
of the eBay contingent
will be there.
So far the list of speakers include Marsha Collier, Debbie Levitt, Melinda Jackson, Janelle
Elms, Carolyn "CJ" Jacinto and Cindy Shebley.
We're gonna have fun!
Amazon Conference - July
They’ve officially announced the conference and the earlier you get your tickets, the cheaper they’ll be. Head on over there and sign
up soon. This is the only conference that the brass
from Amazon attends, speaks at and invites the attendees to their
corporate headquarter for lunch. If you've ever wanted to hob-nob
with Amazon Brass this is the one to attend.
This is the independent conference for entrepreneurs who utilize amazon.com as a sales platform.
Dates = July 10-13 2009
Place - Seattle Airport Marriott and Amazon HQ
This conference is presented to allow sellers to network, learn, and grow their online businesses. Executives from
amazon.com will be on hand to lead sessions, answer questions and receive feedback.
I'll be there - I'm leading a panel discussion on
transitioning from eBay to Amazon. Stay tuned for more details.
What's A Bonanzle Up?
Glad you asked! It’s an event born from the
Bonanzle.com forums.
It started as a few members suggesting they get together for lunch and went viral….
Now it’s an event you are invited to attend - for the moment it’s only scheduled in three cities.
Seattle - May 16th
Wichita - May 23th
Mobile - May 30th
This event is still taking shape, but one thing we know for sure is
- it will be fun. Bonanzle co-founder Mark Dorsey will be in Seattle and promises to broadcast live for an hour at other upcoming events. He’s making himself available to answer questions about the site.
Next meeting is May 12th 6:30
The Project for that meeting is to bring an item you want to List
You will hand it off to someone else
they will write Title and Description and
the original owner will grade the Item's content
The Tuesday night meeting will be May 12th in Mountlake Terrace at 6:30 PM
You can email Joni if you need address or more info.
eBay Success Meeting (open to
everyone)
Wednesday May 13th 9:30 - 11:30 am
Moderator: Alice Rudolph
Where: Lake Forrest Park - 3rd Place Commons (upstairs meeting
room)
This month Alice will discuss the pros and cons of selling on
Bonanzle. She'll explain what's involved in setting up a Bonanzle booth and what it takes to succeed there.
She set up a booth there a couple of weeks ago and have been working through the kinks - check it out at
http://www.bonanzle.com/booths/Quilteralice.
Alice decided to go with this topic this month because on May 16, Bonanzle is holding an event here in Seattle called "Bonanzle Up". Their event will be held in Bellevue and includes lunch and informal talks. This is a great opportunity to check out this new venue if you are interested in expanding your selling opportunities. The event is free but they would like your user ID (Ebay is fine if you aren't yet registered on Bonanzle). If anyone wants to attend this event, let me
or Alice know and she'll pass along your info to the coordinator.
Here's A
Quick, Simple, Easy Way To Create An Online Income
Here's a simple project that anyone can do. Use free content
from the Internet Archives to create a product that you can resell for a profit.
Be sure when looking for content that you use only items that are out of copyright or are creative commons licensed
for commercial use. There's plenty of material there, so you
should have no problem!
One Last
Word...
I did it again!
You have to help me out here - LOL. I set up this
scale as a demo for an eBay class several days ago and it only one has
bid on it. I know the students are watching. What are they
going to think if I can't get anyone to bid on it? Here's
your chance to buy a really nice shipping scale for your business
- and it looks like it's going to go cheap - they normally sell in
my store for $34.98.
That's it for now,
