Did you know you can receive a 75% refund on your eBay selling fees? You can, by drawing your own
customers into your store.
There are many simple techniques you can use. One easy one is
called 'Domain Forwarding.' That sounds technical, but really trust me, it's pretty simple.
Here's How it works.
You simply register a domain name that is easy to remember and say and have the domain redirect to your eBay store.
Then you print the URL on your business cards, put it in your
signature line and post it anywhere people might click it.
When a buyer comes to
your eBay store from that URL
And they purchase a store item while they are there
eBay refunds you 75% of the final value fee.
It's pretty simple to do - the hardest part will be figuring out what domain will work for your
store. I suggest you consider a name that reflects or brands your store.
Stay away from domains with .info, .net or .org. People have a
very difficult time remembering them so its better to have a dot com
domain. You may have to think a bit on the name and check to see
if it's available. I like to use GoDaddy.com.
If you look at the top of the GoDaddy page there is a place to
check for available names.
If you'd like to see how domain forwarding works, please watch the video below.

OSI Webinar August
16th
The announcement in April
& May by Jim Ambach from eBay brought to light a growing trend in
eBay listings. The new secret weapon sellers are using includes adding videos.
Here's what he had to
say:
"Online video has become increasingly popular among internet users, and is quickly becoming a standard on many sites. It's proven to be an effective way of capturing people's attention by being entertaining, as well as informative.
Over the past couple of years, it's also become easier for people to create and host their own videos. Video can often help you tell an engaging story and share information more effectively than plain text.
For these reasons, we think the time is right to bring the video experience to eBay! I'm pleased to announce that starting today, sellers will be able to link from their listings to videos that describe their items."
The team has approved
embedded videos hosted using five sites:
- YouTube
- Google
- MySpace
- Microsoft
- AOL
They selected these sites for their combination
of popularity, ease of use, and the protection they offer against
harmful programs being used inside the videos.
If you would like to hear
more about how to include videos and how to upload them to a few of
your favorite sites please attend a one hour webinar, hosted by
Janelle Elms at OSI. She and I will walk you through the
process.

Book Review

Finally,
I want to talk about a new book:
How And Where To Locate Merchandise To Sell On eBay ~ Insider
Information You Need To Know From The Experts Who Do It Everyday
Click
Here To Buy
OK, I admit I'm pretty
partial to this book - I was one of the 'experts' interviewed for this
book.
However, that said...
This book is packed full
of great information! Anyone wondering what/how/when or where to buy
inventory for resale on eBay should pick up a copy of this book.
Here's what Stephanie
Inge says about the book:
"As an eight-year veteran
eBay PowerSeller, eBay Education Specialist, Registered Trading
Assistant, and founder of The Dallas eBaybes & eMales, world s
largest eBay Seller s Meetup Group, I am very familiar with and have
read almost every eBay book that s ever been published. Most of these
books only cover the basic how-to elements of eBay and do not zero in
on eBay sellers and their specific needs. How and Where to Locate the
Merchandise to Sell on eBay provides answers to the one question I get
asked most by my students, Where do I find merchandise to sell on
eBay? This book is rich with attitude adjustments to achieve success
with no sales experience. No other book delves into finding a niche
market and enjoying long-term online business mastery with no
specialized training or education. --
